今日は、クリスマスらしく、トップページに、「今日のメロディー」として、「Shall we gather at the river」(Robert Lowry 作詞作曲 聖歌６８７番 「まもなくかなたの」明治初期には、賛美歌「流水天にあり」 ) を掲載した。
ここをクリックすれば、MP3でメロディーが聴けるが，聴かれて、「なんだ。これは、例の”たんたん狸の00は”、の歌じゃないか」とか「ビッグカメラのコマーシャルソング(作詞：新井隆司)じゃないか」と思われる方もおおいだろう。
(おっと、ビックカメラでした。
『ビックカメラ』のサイトによれば、「ビックとはポリネシア語の特殊なスラングで『すばらしい』ということ。この言葉が気に入って『ビックカメラ』と名づけました」なんだそうで。でも、この話、本当なのかいな?)
サイトhttp://www10.ocn.ne.jp/~awjuno/sub406.htmlには、本郷中央教会でのオルガンの弾き手であった岡野貞一さんが、いかに、賛美歌隠しで、小学唱歌を作っていったか、その苦労話が書いてある。
なお、この音楽は、映画にも使われ、1985年のアカデミー賞受賞作品(主演女優賞 ジェラルディン・ペイジ )「Trip to Bountiful」(日本語作品名「バウンティフルへの旅.」)にも、使われている。
